Marin Perinatal Therapy is a collective of three therapists, Ali Vogt, LMFT, Margot Kirschner, PsyD and Shannon Myers, LMFT. We are committed to supporting women and families by providing direct support, building community for Marin’s perinatal professional community, and offering training and consultation to therapists, perinatal providers and medical professionals.
Ali Vogt, LMFT
As a mother, psychotherapist and feminist, Ali Vogt LMFT is passionate about maternal mental health. Too often there seems like a "right" way to give birth, raise a child - and to feel while doing those activities. An important part of a mother's mental health is to have a safe, non-judgmental place to share in an open and honest way what being a new parent is really like. Ali aims to provide this safe place in her therapy practice. Her therapeutic orientation is informed by training at the Women’s Therapy Center; personal experience and therapy; attending various perinatal mental health trainings throughout the year; and membership in Postpartum Support International. Ali also supervises associates that specialize in providing perinatal support. www.alivogt.com
Margot Kirschner, Psy.D.
Dr. Margot Kirschner is a clinical psychologist and mother of two specializing in the treatment of mothers, fathers and couples in the transition to parenthood. Dr. Kirschner has been in the field for over 10 years and she will never tell you to “enjoy every moment.” There is often so much pressure to only express the positive experiences of motherhood and that pressure can lead women to feel isolated and bad for having an appropriate range of feelings. Dr. Kirschner seeks to relieve women and couples of the pressure to be perfect and find ways to build a supportive and loving community. Dr. Kirschner is a member of Postpartum Support International, has attended various maternal mental health conferences and has completed The Gottman Institute, Bring Baby Home training. www.drmargotkirschner.com
